About Kimberly Blom-Roemer
Kimberly Ann Blom-Roemer
Kimberly was born in 1968 in Las Vegas, Nevada and has lived in various areas of the country, including Alaska, Minnesota, Florida, Illinois and Missouri before landing in Louisiana in 2011. Regardless of the location, she does not need to be convinced as to the beauty and the photographic opportunities found everywhere on our planet.
Kimberly was drawing even before she started attending school and took private art lessons throughout her childhood. Even then her preferred medium was the black and white world of pen and ink. But as college loomed she had convinced herself she needed to pursue something more technical and pursued an Astrophysics and Business double major. Inevitably, she needed an elective and on a whim took a photography class - from that moment on she was hooked.
Life’s road took her into a career in marketing and technical communications and she has been an independant consultant to numerous corporations and organizations over the last 15 years. Her projects and clients have included working at Kennedy Space Center on the Space Shuttle and with many of the top Fortune 500 government contractors including Johnson Controls, Martin Marietta and Harris Corporation. After the tragedy of September 11, 2001 she even found herself working in Business Development for the largest security contractor to the US Marshals Service.
In 2004 she finally took the leap in pursuing her photography full time as her career and life passion. She now is a rarity in the photography industry, she specializes exclusively in architectural and aerial photography, and she is one of the rare females with that specialty.
Kimberly currently serves as a National Board Member and Chapter Liaison Chair for the American Society of Media Photographers (ASMP).Throughout her career she has received numerous honors, including being recognized in 2003 by the Governor of Alaska as one of the state’s Top 40 Business People under the Age of 40.
Kimberly creates images using digital capture and prefers landscapes in black and white, as when she was young, in order to capture the full impact and beauty of the scene in front of her.
